The internet has clearly transformed our world. We can now learn new things quicker than we have ever been able to before. No longer do people have to spend hours or even days searching for the knowledge they need. Now they can search anything anywhere at any time. This ability takes away from the need to acquire and remember information. From education to recreation, from shopping to reading, no aspect of the human routine is untouched by the virtual world. However, we may not completely recognize the personal and social implications of this advancement. Without a doubt, each new transformative medium has modified our perception. The internet is rerouting our neural pathways, replacing our literary brain with one that is over distracted in ways that sacrifice both knowledge and creativity.

  1. I agree. Technology is involved in everything in our world; from farming to games to careers. In many ways, technology makes things more efficient, easier, and faster, leaving people with more time to focus on progression of human civilization in general. Everything is slowly improving and becoming less time consuming as technology advances.

  2. I completely agree, all the information we could ever want is only a click away. Information is readily accessible at a person's disposal, however, "Google" and other search engines surely take away our need to remember and research information as anything we wish to know can be found in mere seconds.

  3. All very good points, and I completely agree. As you said, it is entirely possible to search up information nearly instantaneously when the questions appear in your head. Just because it is taking less time to find the information needed does not mean that humanity is becoming stupid, but just evolving with the tech as it is rolled out to the public.
