The Impact of the Industrial Revolution on Women and Children
As is painfully evident in great detail, large quantities of women and children went through very harsh times in factories around the country during this industrial boom. Check out the video above for more detail, I could not embed it so follow the link.
This video was very interesting. During the Industrial Revolution, women had to take on factory jobs rather than their normal role of taking care of the home. It seems that this transition to new manufacturing processes prohibited children from experiencing an ideal childhood.
ReplyDeleteEven though women had harsh working conditions and poor pay, it still allowed women to get their foot in the door and experience what it was like working. Some women even tried to keep their jobs when the men came back from the war.
